Explore & Select the Best Solution
With your project’s scope and purpose now clearly defined, Step 2 focuses on developing viable delivery options and selecting the most effective pathway forward. This stage ensures you don’t just proceed with a solution — you proceed with the right one.
Develop Alternative Solutions
We identify and assess multiple delivery approaches to address the defined problem and scope. This includes:
- Exploring engineering, operational, or design options
- Considering staged, temporary, or full-scale solutions
- Engaging with key stakeholders to test practicalities
- Comparing technical feasibility, access, constructability, and cost impacts
We present these options in a clear, side-by-side format that outlines pros, cons, constraints, and risks. This empowers you to make informed decisions backed by technical insight and real-world delivery considerations.
Select Preferred Solution
Based on feedback, funding parameters, and project goals, we assist you in selecting the most suitable option. This phase includes:
- Prioritising outcomes (cost, risk, delivery time, lifecycle performance, etc.)
- Refining the preferred option for further development
- Providing early input from subcontractors or RPEQ designers, if applicable
- Confirming that the solution aligns with your operational and strategic needs
The result is a clear solution path that is both defensible and practical — ready to move into planning and detailed design.
Client Acceptance Milestone
At the conclusion of Step 2, we deliver a Solution Selection Report that includes:
- A summary of all alternatives considered
- Justification for the preferred solution
- Key assumptions, risks, and high-level delivery considerations
You’ll be asked to formally accept this preferred solution before progressing to the next phase — ensuring full alignment and transparency.
Jumping to a solution too early can lock in design constraints, escalate costs, or overlook better ideas. Step 2 ensures that you’ve tested the field, considered alternatives, and chosen your path with confidence.
Clients may choose to engage GENISYS Projects for Step 2 independently, especially when comparing internal proposals, preparing business cases, or seeking funding approvals.
